UltraDeep for iOS Released!

29 Oct 2010 - UltraDeep, our latest iPhone / iPod Touch game has just been released! Get it now on the App Store!

We designed UltraDeep to be extremely addictive and very easy to get into. It is a pickup and play game that will have you wanting 'just one more try' every try! And the cool thing is that it can be played wherever you are and even if you don't have a lot of time such as when waiting in line because it is playable with just one hand.

The aim of the game is to avoid obstacles and try to go as deep as possible as you can see in the game's trailer here:

You can collect diamonds to charge up your superpower and then tap the screen to use it. This will have you smashing down through obstacles at satisfyingly high speeds. Go even faster by leveling up your superpower. And on top of that, the diamonds you collect in each game can be used to buy additional powerups and upgrades!

The game supports both GameCenter and OpenFeint online leaderboards and achievements.

So, what are you waiting for? Go get UltraDeep now on the App Store!

Zombie Escape Development Update

26 Mar 2010 - Just wanted to post a quick update on how Zombie Escape's development is going. After announcing the game we've had a wonderful response from iphone app review sites and iphone gamers such as at the TouchArcade forums. So we decided to take some time to make the game even better!

Originally we decided there would be only a "Survival" mode with 3 maps and 5 weapons. Right now the plan is to add a "Campaign Mode" with multiple missions. We've also added 2 new weapons bringing the total to 7 and each of them have multiple upgrades that you can buy while playing through the campaign mode!

I can't reveal more details right now, just that the final weapon is kick-ass cool!

As for the release date, it should be sometime in April. We are extremely sorry for the delay, but we really want to make the game special!

Since the TouchArcade preview, we've also had great previews of the game from SlideToPlay and AppModo:

- Zombie Escape Hands-On Preview at SlideToPlay.com

- AppModo Preview: Zombie Escape: Will it be the best line drawing game?

iWordz Released!

13 Feb 2010 - iWordz, our first iPhone game has just been released on the App Store!

Get it now!

iWordz is a unique word game where you have to guess words from definitions. Read more about it in my previous blog post or at the iWordz page!

Can you guess the word?

iWordz Preview: Our first iPhone game

29 Jan 2010 - Our first PC game and first game ever was a word game, so I guess it's fitting that our first iPhone game will also be a word game.

If you liked the keyword minigame in Tommy and the Magical Words, or if you enjoyed SandScript, this is a game you'll want to have on your iPhone.

Basically it is kind of like Hangman, except that you are given the definition of a word and you have to guess what the word is. You are given a starting "life" of 20, and each time you guess a wrong letter your life points drop by 1. You get life points back when you get a word right. The aim of the game is to get as many words as you can before you run out of life points.

Here's an example of what you might see in the game:

Do you know what the word is?

If you liked that, then stay tuned for the release :)

You can see more info and screenshots about the game at the iWordz page on our new Viqua Games iPhone section.

I have to say that during testing, we found the game to be lots of fun playing with friends or loved ones helping to guess the words. It's educational and exercises your brain too!

You can always subscribe to our newsletter or follow our Facebook page or Twitter stream to get notified when we release it.

What's to come in 2010 from Viqua Games

28 Jan 2010 - 2010 should be an exciting year for us as many games and projects that we've been working on will finally be released. Here's a look at what to expect from us this year:

- New website. Actually, you are already looking at it. We've changed the way it looks, but more importantly, we've changed the structure a bit by creating subdomains for each section of the website. There's www.viquagames.com for this news blog which includes updates from every section. downloads.viquagames.com is where you'll find all the downlooadable casual games and HideNSeek is at hidenseek.viquagames.com. We'll be adding even more sections later :)

- More PC/Mac casual downloadable games. If you liked our previous downloadable games, we should have more of them for you this year.

- iPhone games! Yes, we've dedicated a few of our team members to iPhone game development. Our first game should be released very soon and we have more in development.

- More stuff to do on our website. We'll have more activities for visitors to our website that should be extremely fun

- Facebook games! We're working on a Facebook game too!

I'll have a preview of our first iPhone game up pretty soon. So stay tuned.

A look back at Viqua Games in 2009

28 Jan 2010 - It's late January, but hopefully not too late for a look back at 2009!

Starting at the beginning of 2009 our 6th casual downloadable game - Shop-N-Spree was released and it was a great success reaching No.2 on Big Fish Games top sales charts. It was our first game which we worked directly with Big Fish Games on and they were a great pleasure to work with. We're extremely proud of how the game turned out and the response from players :)

Shortly after the release of Shop-N-Spree I gave an interview with Roman Budzowski of ANAWIKI Games about its development and about Viqua Games in general, which you can read here.

We were supposed to release more games in 2009, but due to many things we weren't able to. But 2009 was still a great year for us because later in the year some cool things happenned :)

First, during fall 2009, we had First Class Flurry retail published by eGames. This was very exciting for us as it was the first time a game completely designed and developed by Viqua Games was available to buy in US in a fancy retail box :) Here's a pic of the box:

We also expanded our team to 10 people and moved to a new larger, more spacy office.

What all this means is that we've got lots of projects in development near completion to be released in 2010. It should be a very busy and exciting year for Viqua Games!
